Literature Text

Life is something
That is really strange
It's not like a plan
That we can arrange
We reach for goals
Out of our range
To accept a fate
We cannot change

Some are judged
With hate and scorn
By their rate
And how they're born
But most are judged
By how they live
With what they're given
And how much they give

You get what you put in
You reap what you sow
People get what they deserve
Or at least I am told so
So I'll put in all I have
And I'll sow to grow a tree
I don't deserve the best
But the worst is not for me

I must take my chances
More often than not
Make the right decisions
And give it all I've got
If not now then
I'll never follow through
Endeavor to
Be ever true
Never will I
Ever do
What my heart
Hasn't told me to

We cannot seem
To change our fate
Take grasp of this
And hold it
But we can
Make the choices
That seem to form
And mold it
Okay, so here's the deal. In another poem I posted titled My Stride, I misused the word sow. As in the phrase "reap what you sow".

In the other poem, I put sew, as in a sewing needle. When the correct word for the phrase is sow, which means to grow something. I used the correct version of the phrase in this poem. I figured I'd clarify that for any readers who might have gotten confused with that particular line.

Anyway, here it is. Enjoy. :)
